Chief Executive Officer John Glabach joined Bay West in 2022, bringing over two decades of diverse experience. He has worked for multiple engineering firms, served an array of clients such as the U.S. Air Force (USAF), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Department of Energy, and been involved in projects within the oil and gas, retail, development, and municipal sectors. John is a Veteran Air Force Civil Engineer Officer and holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering.

Chief Financial Officer James Irwin brings Bay West 24 years of experience. Throughout James’ career, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Vice President of Finance, Executive Vice President, and ultimately President for a decade with Alumacraft Boat Co. James joined Bay West as Chief Financial Officer in 2022, holds a BS in Accounting, and is recognized for his willingness to work collaboratively to execute Bay West’s company strategy.

Senior Director of Human Resources Kari Solem brings two decades of human resources expertise to Bay West. Kari’s experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors has aided her in recruiting and retaining top talent. Kari holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services, a Master of Arts in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, and is recognized with a Senior Professional in Human Resources credential from the Society of Human Resources.

Chief Operating Officer Donovan Hannu is a seasoned Professional Engineer. Donovan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has contributed over 33 years to the local environmental consulting market in Minneapolis/St. Paul, with the last 12 years dedicated to Bay West. Donovan brings a passion for superior execution, staff mentoring, and development, maintaining Bay West’s strong growth trajectory.

Christina Vail, Vice President & General Manager of Federal Programs, brings 30 years of leadership experience to Bay West. Her knowledge of the environmental, Department of Defense research and development, and engineering sectors helps her effectively manage Federal Programs. Christina holds both a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Her client portfolio includes the USAF, the USACE, and the Naval Facilities Command. She is experienced in prospect identification growth strategies and strategic capture planning for federal clients.

Doug McDaniel, Vice President & General Manager of Commercial Programs at Bay West, brings 28 years of experience in environmental science, hazardous waste management, soil remediation, water remediation, and business development to his role. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. With a commitment to the highest level of client satisfaction, Doug oversees the management of commercial clients, navigating each project’s unique challenges with a focus on excellence and strategic solutions.
